Dakota Fanning Talks About Her Younger Sister Elle's Daring Style In New Interview

Elle Fanning is the ultimate avante-garde dresser, wearing everything from hot pink eye shadow to Prada Judo flatforms on the red carpet and she can even make a school uniform seem oh-so cool. Alexa Chung is a fan of her style, she inspired Rodarte and she was the face of Marc Jacobs A/W 2011 campaign. But remember Elle is only 14 making her the most intimidatingly hip chadult of all time?

Well it seems her older sis Dakota also thinks she's achingly cool, as she has spoken out about Elle's style in a cover interview with US Glamour. ‘She’s very uninhibited and will try pretty much anything. Even the way she dresses— she dresses totally for herself,’ Dakota said. ‘She risks being made fun of… by me, which I sometimes do, because I’m an older sister! But I totally admire her and think she’s very cool.’ We do too.

Another topic of conversation in the interview was that banned Marc by Marc ad campaign. In case you’ve forgotten, when Dakota was just 17 she starred in a campaign shot by Juergen Teller where she held a big purple perfume bottle by her crotch. The UK Advertising Standards Authority thought that Dakota looked under 16 and was in a provocative pose, so it was seen as sexualising a child.

Dakota has spoke out about the controversy for the very first time and said: ‘If you want to read something into a perfume bottle, then I guess you can. But it’s also like, ‘Why are you making it about that, you creep?’ I love Marc and trust him, and we just laughed about it.'

Now back to fashion’s child prodigy, Mis Elle. If you still need proof that she is the bravest gal on the red carpet take a look at her style evolution in the gallery below...
